疫情猶如一場經濟清算，重創全球就業市場。美國勞工部昨公佈，上周國內首次申請失業救濟人數達328.3萬人，較前值的28.1萬人急飆10倍，破有紀錄以來新高。若果你亦受疫情影響而失業，請盡快申請失業救濟，步驟非常簡單。更重要的是，成功申請失業救濟，每周可獲$600的額外補助金，非常和味！
在佛州，上周(3月15日-21日) 申領失業救濟人數也勁升11倍以上，高達74,021人。在1月時，全州最低只有2.8%，即4,618人失業，3月疫情爆發前也不過是6,256人，可見停市打擊就業市場之嚴重性。
佛州負責處理失業救濟金的「佛州經濟機遇局」(Florida Department of Economic Opportunity，DEO) 表示，人手不足以應付11倍以上的個案，網上申請及電話辦理均不勝負荷，呼籲申領人士保持耐性。
DEO列出以下3類合資格申請失業救濟人士：
- 被醫護人員要求自我隔離、已確診、正在出現症狀，因此無法工作
- 被僱主裁員而失業
- 必須照顧已確診的家庭成員並且失業
DEO列出以下申請失業救濟步驟：
- 登入政府官方網站www.floridajobs.org，以在CONNECT平台上提交申請。
- 需要文件：社會保障號碼、駕照或州身份證、過去的18個月的工作證明，包括僱主名稱、離職原因、收入和工作日期。如果不是美國公民，則還需綠卡號碼。
- 提交申請，等候審查，以確定是否符合條件。

Here are the steps to file for reemployment benefits and what you will need:
1.Visit http://www.floridajobs.org to submit your application on the CONNECT platform here.
2.You will need: Social Security number, driver’s license or state ID, your past 18 months of employment — including name of employer, separation reason, earnings and dates of employment. If you are not a U.S. citizen you will also need work authorization, military employees will need DD-214 member 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, or 8 and federal government employees need a SF 8 or SF 50.
3.Your claim will then go to review to determine if you qualify.
